I gave my third speech in Toastmasters on Tuesday, and it was well received. I had the objective of "getting to the point" and could either entertain or inform. I decided to inform and chose emergency preparedness as my topic.

It is too bad that more people along the Gulf Coast weren't better prepared. Experience is the harshest teacher, and she doesn't suffer fools lightly. But once she give a lecture, the lesson tends to stick.
